About Us

Our journey began in 2011 when a father and his son embarked on the exciting venture of opening our first location in Summerville. With a shared love for brick oven pizzas, they aimed to bring the warmth and flavor of this culinary delight to the local community.

Fast forward 12 years to 2019, when The Crushed Tomato extended its roots to Lafayette, marking the inception of our second location. This expansion brought new challenges and opportunities, prompting the involvement of the daughter and her husband, who eagerly stepped in to lend a hand and contribute to the success of the Lafayette establishment.

As the patriarch took a well-deserved retirement, ownership dynamics evolved. Currently, the Lafayette locations are proudly owned by the daughter and her husband, while the Summerville spot remains under the careful stewardship of her mother and brother.

This unique family collaboration reflects our commitment to maintaining the authentic, welcoming atmosphere that defines The Crushed Tomato.

We walk in and it’s so comforting! The smell was so drawing to their food. The waitress (I feel very bad for not remembering) she was very helpful as first timers and informed us of all their deals they had! So great customer service! The salad was great as well! The pizza?? Omg! Not to be exaggerating but it’s the first time we ate the whole pizza while eating out. We usually take what’s left but we sure did eat it all. It’s was so delicious. We had the Margarita Pizza with Pepperoni added to it. Very much recommend to come and eat here and very much likely that we will come back!

Re/Max Real Estate Center held an awards brunch in the upper room today. Natalie and her staff were so welcoming and accommodating. We had fresh berries, quiches, muffins, sausage balls, regular and apple cinnamon rolls, juices, coffee, soda, and tea. It was all delicious! The room is beautiful and we had a really good time. OMG! For my first time eating at The Crushed Tomato in LaFayette, GA it was an awesome experience!! Our server, Gracie was wonderful! Top notch food and service. The restaurant was very clean and the style was just down right cool! I love giving reviews on excellent local restaurants and I'll have to say, without reservation...The Crushed Tomato is excellent. When a place can check ALL the boxes...woo hoo! This location definitely does just that! I highly recommend giving them a try. For desert there's some of the BEST cheesecake you can find and an assortment of ice cream. Yummy! I've included photos of the menu so you can see what they offer.

We are visiting from NY & have to say this was some of the best pizza we have ever had! Also tried the meatballs (amazing sauce), cheesecake (decadent AF), garlic bites (fluuuuuufffyyy!) and Philly cheese steaks. Everything was FRESH and well seasoned. Truly great food, great service, great atmosphere! Very low priced for the amazingness of the food.

This was my 1st time here and I will start out with the staff were very welcoming of my group into the establishment. The little parmesean bites were amazing. We ordered all kinds of pizza. I personally got the Meathead which was amazingly great. Now the part that stunk but wasn't their fault was a printer jam which lost 2 pizzas in the mix but came out later. They did what they felt was right and was genuinely trying to make it right. Technology isn't perfect BUT.......that pizza is! If you're in the area or thinking of a spontaneous hour drive one way to get a pizza...you won't be disappointed! Great job staff!!

Visited a buddy of mine while I was up here on a road trip, and I wanted to give this a try. Cool place! Pizza was good, prices are very reasonable, and service was excellent. They said they were shorthanded, but I couldn't tell, because the servers were on point the whole time and were very nice. The place is an old, historic building that used to house a car dealership (with an elevator to lift cars to the 2nd story!), so the inside has a very unique atmosphere to it that I really liked.

The food was good - we got a pizza and a calzone. (Warning: their sausage is spicy hot!) Casual atmosphere, so we were comfortable dropping in during our road trip. Good service - food was brought quickly. Good price. We enjoyed it and would go again.

Everyone I interacted with here was very nice, and the inside was very clean. I ordered my pizza to-go online and arrived to pick it up. WARNING: The large pizza is VERY LARGE (not a bad thing!), not sure why but I was actually expecting a smaller pizza. The buffalo pizza was really good, plenty of bacon and a good balance of ranch/buffalo sauce. The cheese pizza was absolutely full of cheese, maybe too much cheese for some people but it was fine for me. The sauce had a good tomato flavor but I think the amount of cheese made it hard to really get a good taste of it. Will have to try ordering the cheese pizza and ask for less cheese next time. 10/10 would order again for pizza splurge.

I was in town working and ended up working late. I rushed over here as soon as I could because I had heard it was great. I walked in 20 minutes before closing and saw the young ladies sweeping. Disappointed I asked if I was too late. To my surprise a cheerful employee (Brylee) said no not at all please have a seat. I ordered cheese bread and a calzone. I’m not kidding all of it was on my table before I could type this review. And a as a bonus, the food was great, but the pleasant service was even better. Highly recommend!
